This tonal orange is another mix of several different colors layered onto a hank of Targhee wool. The colors include a vibrant orange with pops of deep burgundy red.
Despite writing down what I did—I believe these are one of a kinds.
I have chosen this SW Targhee/Nylon blend as my go to sock yarn. Merino is lovely but it is a very soft, fine wool which means it feels great around your neck, but doesn’t bear up as well under the wear and tear of socks. Targhee is a native sheep breed originating in 1926 in Idaho. It is sturdy with a soft hand and great springyness. That elasticity is so important for socks.
